FAQs
Can rabies vector species be relocated?
Yes! Most people think this is against the law in NB because Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators are bound by additional regulations to humanely euthanize rabies vector species. JB Wild is a wildlife professional able to execute successful relocation efforts, a licensed trapper, and does not accept payment of any kind in exchange for relocations.
Isn’t relocating animals bad for them?
It can be when not understanding all that is involved. Most animals experience a period of disorientation, are more vulnerable to predation, and the process of trapping and transporting can be extremely stressful for them. I will only attempt relocations when I can combat these issues.
Does relocating spread disease?
Sometimes. I have constructed a process to mitigate the risks of spreading diseases when relocating wildlife. Each animal is monitored before a relocation takes place, appropriate avenues are contacted if any health concerns are present, treatment given when possible, and monitoring is continued for 2 weeks after a relocation takes place.
